For sale is a very collectable Breitling RCAF, single pusher, two register chronograph. This watch was produced exclusively for the Royal Canadian Airforce and never available for the civilian market. For years, Canada's Air Force (RCAF) and Department of Defense (DND) was in the habit of ordering single-button chronographs from Omega, Lemania (who made movements for others), and Breitling. They were given to pilots and army folk often. Back in the 60s, a number of watch manufacturers were tasked with producing single button chronographs for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). That number was five, and those five were Breitling, Lemania, Omega, Rodania, and Birks.This RCAF Breitling single pusher Chronograph was a service time piece, and was worn by a proud Aircrew person. Breitling Compagnie participated on, and secured the RCAF contract for timepieces that were issued only.
One of only 820 pieces manufactured by BREITLING with a sterile dial for the Canadian Department of National Defence. Many were destroyed by the DND on return and out of the ones that survived few remain in original and beautiful condition like this rare piece.
It's a Royal Canadian Air Force Military Issued Breitling mono pusher. It's really quite understated, unless you were looking on the crown, caseback or movement you would have no way of knowing that it was a Breitling or Military.This is a vintage 1977 stainless steel Breitling RCAF Monopusher Chronograph. It has a cordovan leather strap with a stainless steel tang buckle. The single pusher at 2 o'clock starts, stops and resets the sweep seconds hand and the 30 minute totalizer. For your consideration is a 1977 RCAF Breitling single pusher chronograph. Breitling signed Crown and Bridge with nice sharp case edges. It has a lovely original dial with faded lume and has been serviced about two years ago, so nothing to do for the next ten years.
