I like the all-polished case and arabics of the 359, the Ti and tobacco and gold . I checked out a 351 this past weekend and compared it to the 312. Seems like . If I really had to choose, 351, but ask me in two days, and I'll probably have changed my mind.
I checked out a 351 this past weekend and compared it to the 312. Seems like you can't go wrong with the black dial, but the brown tobacco dial on the 351 is very unique. The 351 is substantially lighter, which is a good thing in my opinion.
PAM 351 is my most beloved PAM (beneath PAM 390) because of: Despite of the 17mm height you can wear it very pleasantly. This is because the titanium case is lighter than the steen ones (e.g. 312). If this is your first and possibly only PAM, at least for a while, I would personally go for the 312. The 351 is very cool with the brown sandwich dial and gold hands but I do find that it makes the watch less versatile when playing around with strap options.
I tried the 312, 351, and 359 at the same time and I went with 359. I have other vintage looking pieces and thought the 359 looked very nice and different. The dial is very different from the other ones and still very much Panerai. Panerai Luminor Movement. The movement of PAM 312 is Calibre P.9000 which is one of Panerai's first in house movements. Plus, the point is that it comes with a power reserve of 72 hours which is an ample amount of coverage. The second hand has quite a smooth movement and beats at 4Hz/28,800bpm. I would suggest if i may, that you also consider a 351. It has elements Panerai's are renowned for, gold hands & tobacco dial and set in a Ti case, which i found more comfortable than the slightly top-heavy case of the 312. I like the all-polished case and arabics of the 359, the Ti and tobacco and gold hands of the 351, and the clean lines of the 312. If I really had to choose, 351, but ask me in two days, and I'll probably have changed my mind.
